Pizza Verde

Pizza is a well loved favourite with many, but very unhealthy due to white flour, salt, additives and sugar, not to mention a no go for coeliacs, the wheat and gluten intolerant, vegans and also those following a GAPS or Paleo diet. However, this gluten free broccoli base pizza recipe is packed with wholesome, natural ingredients so you can enjoy pizza guilt free, and it can be adapted to be vegan friendly, too.

Ingredients

Base

1 broccoli

1 handful of flaxseeds

Topping

3 tbsp of tomato puree

125g of mozzarella or tofu

1 handful of fresh basil leaves

1 handful of walnuts

Method

Bake broccoli florets in the oven at 200 degrees celsius  (around 20 mins). Then blitz in a food processor. Add flaxseeds to mixture and pour mixture into a deep pan.

Bake for around 20 – 30 mins, or again, until crisp, and then spread on the tomato puree. Finally top with the cheese or tofu, the basil and the walnuts and bake for a further 5 – 10 mins.
