Turmeric is a vivid bright orange spice that has been used for centuries in Ayurvedic and Traditional Chinese Medicine as a herbal aid for conditions such as flatulence, menstrual difficulties, toothache and bruises. It has anti inflammatory and anti oxidant properties, and may help in the relief for some symptoms of rheumatoid arthritis, such as joint swelling. Additionally, because of its antioxidant properties, Turmeric may be a useful herb to include frequently for prevention of some types of cancer and cardiovascular diseases.

1 tbsp of turmeric
1 glass of coconut milk (If out of a can, add three heaped tablespoons to the glass and then add hot water. Alternatively, pour some branded unsweetened coconut milk such as Alpro, Kara, or a supermarket own brand, into the glass).
1 tsp of cinnamon
1 tsp of nutmeg
1 mashed banana
1 tbsp of protein powder
Add turmeric, cinnamon and nutmeg to a glass and then pour coconut milk on top.Stir together and then add the banana and protein powder. Stir again until mixed together and smooth, and then serve or refrigerate for later.
